Brentwood Running Out of Palm Trees?!

Full Description:

Palm Trees has been so much a part of LA, Brentwood in particular, that Neil Diamond described it as a place where "palm trees grow and rent is low."

Low rent, as common knowledge to everyone, is long part history and the infamous palm trees are quickly following suit. The trees are quickly dying of old age and fungal diseases, and are being replaced by oaks and sycamores-- being more shady.

Scott Wannberg of trendy Dutton's Books, frustrated about the "replacement" says, "I know one thing: I like palm trees!"

Unbeknownst to the city government, palm symbolize LA more than they think.

"I think the palm tree kind of fits with the whole Southern California vibe," says Jonathan Scott, who manages the fashionable downtown restaurant The Palm.
