Mark D. Evenson, a Seattle Police Captain, is set to fill the seat of retiring Chief Mike Davies on October 30.
Evenson was the "cream of cop crop" of 40 police chief candidates and has been in the force for 21 years.
Known for establishing new patrol procedures in community policing, facilitating domestic violence investigations and working on written rules for use of police force and internal investigations, Evenson is a highly-accomplished California native who will surely fit the big shoes that he has to wear.
