Auditions for Gilbert and Sullivan Solos

NOTICE FROM THE SUMMERSET SINGERS On September 10, we are hearing auditions for a program of Gilbert & Sullivan solos, duets and ensembles to be performed on October 7 (a Sunday afternoon) at the Summerset III clubhouse. Unfortunately, a number of our best singers have gone away on vacation or are otherwise occupied, so we are soliciting talent from the surrounding community. The program will be in the form of a recital, with open books, so there will be no need to memorize. Mary Roberts, director of this program, has well-grounded experience with the music and traditions of Gilbert & Sullivan, having been a member of, and performer with, The Lamplighters Gilbert & Sullivan Repertory Theater in San Francisco for 10 years. We will provide rehearsal tapes for all who are interested.
